Being a Christian is ‘being good’ isn’t it? Living in a Christian Country (like UK used to be?), being Christened? Living ‘upright’? Charitable? Attending Church each week? Praying? These are all good things, but like living in the garage won’t make you a car, doing these things won’t make you a Christian………(Oh! really!)……..yes really!

Christianity is not religion. It is a way of life. Jesus is that way, and trusting Him is the way to become a Christian. John chapter 6 verses 35 to 51 seem to clearly show the way. I’m so glad I tried it and have enjoyed the Christian life for 60 years!

What does John chapter 6 verses 35 to 51 say any way?

Read it Matt! Jesus is talking about being the ‘Bread of Life’ and the only way to God the Father.

I think verse (52) of this chapter explained what Jesus was trying to get across to those Jews he was talking to. This verse talks of the new covenant, starting at 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 this piece writes of the Lords supper and Paule writes to the readers of this letter 23) For I received from the Lord what I passed on to you:The Lord Jesus, on that night he was betrayed, took bread, 24) and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”25)In the same way, after supper he took the cup {This will be the third cup the Passover cup} saying “This cup is the new covenant in my blood: do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me 26) For when ever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes. The shadow of the Lords supper can be found in Exodus chapter 12: The night before the Israelite left Egypt the Angel of death was to take the first born from every family and beast. God told Moses to tell every household to kill a lamb, then roast it and eat a meal together, also dab the blood around the door frame so the death angel will past over their houses So this represents the first passover, Jesus is our passover. So next time you partake in Communion in Church remember Jesus died so you can have life.
