
Howard Davenportis the Senior Pastor. He has been a Pastor since 1996 and previously Pastored in Worcester and Guernsey.
He became a Christian in Wigan when he was 7 years old. Howard oversees all Departments in the Church, as well as general Pastoral work. In his spare time
he enjoys music.
Emma became a Christian in Guernsey when she was 7 years old. She is involved in the Youth work at Church, and works as a Teaching Assistant at a local School.
Howard and Emma were married in 2002 and have two children.
David is the Assistant Pastor; he came to Yeovil in August 2007 having completed 3 years training at Regents Theological College. He became a Christian through Elim in Southport in 1997. David’s role within the Church covers a wide range of activities including pastoral ministry, visiting, house groups, teaching, preaching and training and covers all age groups. In his spare time he enjoys the Gym, reading, music, eating out, seeing friends, fresh air and outdoor running. He has a fantastic wife! (his words) loves the Bible and supports Liverpool FC.
Katie became a Christian at Spring Harvest when she was 14 years old. She is a Mental Health Social Worker, having previously worked with Christian organisations ‘Careforce’ and ‘YWAM’. She enjoys meeting up with friends, eating out and going for walks.
David & Katie met in their home church of Southport when Katie returned from Lancaster University and were married in 2001.
Ian Raby is a Church Elder. He became a Christian in 1953 at Brewham. He is semi retired but was previously involved in the Funeral and Stonemason Industry. He enjoys various sports – from his armchair.
Jean supports Ian in his role as Elder, is part of the Prayer Chain and involved in hospitality and catering. She became a Christian in 1955.
Ian and Jean were married in 1967 and have one adult daughter. They are involved in hospitality and various practical aspects of Church life and their home is frequently used for a variety of Church events, and they lead a House Group. They are also involved with the work of Gideons International.
Alan Manley is an Elder, and was previously Church Leader at Larkhill Elim Christian Centre. Alan works as an Engineer at Westlands and is a keen Yeovil Town Football Club supporter.
Denise supports Alan in his leadership role. She works in an
administration role in a busy Solicitors office in Blandford.
Alan & Denise lead a House Group for young people. They became Christians in January 1984 at the Larkhill Christian Centre and immediately got involved in the work there. They were married in 1970 and have three adult children and two grandchildren – which are their main interest.
Reg
Ayers is a Deacon, and his areas of responsibility are Modernisation
and Maintenance.
He became a Christian in 1966 aged 21, which caused a dramatic change in his life as persistent smoking and swearing stopped instantly - overnight. He is retired but previously worked at Westlands. He enjoys most sports – from his armchair.
Janet became a Christian at a Methodist Sunday School in North Cadbury when she was 6 years old. She is the Church Administrator and Alpha Administrator, produces the Weekly News, the Church magazine ‘The Grapevine’ and the Church Directory.
Reg & Janet were married in 1972 and have one son. They also lead a House Group.

Dave Burton works at Garador and is involved in Kids Church, 6-10 Club, drives the Minibus and helps at the Night Shelter. Dave became a Christian at Southville when he was a teenager. Dave is an avid football supporter and enjoys DIY.
Julie is a Deacon and her area of responsibility is Children’s
work. Julie became a Christian when she was 16 at an event
called ‘to Yeovil with love’. She enjoys swimming, gym, School ptfa and study.
Dave & Julie were married in 1989 and have three daughters.
John Stone is a retired Hospital worker having served as a Porter at YDH. He is also a keen football supporter of Yeovil Town Football Club and enjoys coastal walks. John became a Christianat Street in 1974.
Nina is a Deacon and her area of responsibility is Pastoral Care. She is also involved in intercessory prayer, the Church Prayer Chain and Christian Counselling. Nina became a Christian at Street in 1974. Nina is now retired having previously worked in Community Care and at Yeovil District Hospital as a Phlebotomist. Nina also does sign language for the deaf.
John & Nina were married in 1967 and have three adult children, and seven grandchildren.
Annette Newton is the Services Deacon responsible for all the practical aspects of Church life, including Catering and Door Ushering. She is also a House Group Leader. Annette works part time for the National Trust.
Annette became a Christian in 1984 at Milborne Port when working in the home of her Christian employers who had prayed for her for 8 years. She picked up a Bible and read John 14.6 ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life’, which challenged her and the Holy Spirit did the rest.
She says
‘Becoming a Christian put my life the right way up’
Annette enjoys cooking, reading and music.
Claire McSevney joined the team in January 2009 as our Children’s Worker, having previously been involved in Children’s work in Schools and Social Services. Her role involves overseeing and/or organising all the Children’s activities within the Church and also visits our Nursery, PreSchool and local Schools on a regular basis.
Claire became a Christian in London when she was 18 whilst working as a Nanny in Wandsworth. The family introduced her to their Church where she did the Alpha Course.
Claire is a School Governor and does voluntary work with children, and also to improve services for victims of violence and abuse.
She says, Through the difficulties I have experienced in life, God has always been there to get me through. In times when I thought I’d never see the end, He guided me through and kept me going.
Claire has three children, a golden retriever and 4 cats. She also enjoys DIY and swimming.
