A gentleman gave what I believe to be a word in season to our church this week – ‘expectancy’
I am a great believer in the principle of expectancy – surely ‘you will recieve that which you expect in faith’ – I must be honest and say I struggle sometimes to believe in those things I cannot see…it is not always easy to have faith, especially when the world around is so distant from this faith we live by and even negative about such faith – that is why we need to encourage each other with inspiring scriptures such as this:
Matthew 8.5-11 – Healing The Centurions Servant
“When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him asking for help: “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible anguish.” Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I say to this one, ‘Go’ and he goes, and to another ‘Come’ and he comes, and to my slave ‘Do this’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this he was amazed and said to those who followed him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found such faith in anyone in Israel! “
This is the kind of expectancy we must have – an expectancy that if we ask Jesus he will surely do it. I don’t know about you, but I want a faith like that centurion who knew, that he knew, that he knew, that he knew, that he knew – he knew it would be done.
Do you expect it? If we all start to expect and have faith, we will marvel at what happens around us.
Have a good week!
Cheers and blessings,
