Good morning everyone: Thank you Lord, for Your Holy Spirit who lives in us, giving us the desire and the power to what what pleases you and what is right and good, that we shine like bright lights in this world. Amen.
PHILIPPIANS 2:12-15
(Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.)
Paul was talking to his followers, telling them they followed his instructions while he was there, but it’s even more important to follow his instructions whilst he is away. People, as Christians, we need to live our lives like children of God every day in everything we do at work or at home, when socializing, in absolutely everything we do – being a Christian is not just going to church on Sunday, we need to work hard to show that as God’s children we are different. Do everything without complaining or arguing, living clean and innocent lives, not making excuses for ourselves when we make mistakes, obeying God with deep reverence and fear of God, that no one can criticize us for anything, remaining joyful and content even when we face difficult trials and challenges. It’s the Godly way that we live, that makes us shine like stars standing out for everyone to see, attracting them and making them hungry for the joy and peace that we have in our everyday lives. What joy we have when an unbeliever turns to God because of our work, for there is much celebration in heaven when a lost soul turns to God in repentance. We can be thankful that our God lives in us and not only gives us the desire to do good, but also the power and ability to do God’s will, truly, we can do all things through Christ Jesus our saviour. God bless you all. Glory be to God forever and ever. Amen
